Sorry to have disappeared for a couple weeks there. It has been a hideous few weeks. First, our truck died. No biggy, we have a 2nd car. Then that car decides its the best time to start flashing the check engine light. Hmm...truck is in the shop, so we gotta baby the car for as long as we can. BAD IDEA. The engine in the car is fried, but at least now the truck is working.
And while all that is going on, our french bulldog (Spike in the Puppies pictures) herniated 2 discs in his back and basically split his hip. I have been hand feeding/watering him for 2 weeks, and carrying him outside every 2 hours to do his business (the medications cause diarrhea and frequent urination).
And of course while dealing with all that, my lovely WorkComp doctors found yet another tear in my shoulder that they want to operate on. I swear those doctors just see me as a cash cow. So it looks like I will be off of work for another few months.
So during that few weeks of hell, I at least could take solace in the wonderful world of the internet. Nope, not a chance. My DSL modem died. No biggy, just buy a new one. Well apparently the reason why it died was because this whole house has seriously bad wiring (reverse polarity, bad/no grounds, etc.). So the 2nd modem shut down after about 5 minutes, and refused to give me the happy little green light ever again.
So, with no car, no internet, and my arm in a sling (with a pain medication pump still attached to me), I just sat there hand feeding our dog and watching tv. And then guess what happens? Our satellite receiver in the living room dies. WTF?!?
So long story made just a bit shorter, for the last couple weeks I have been locked away in my bedroom with a physically lame dog. Hopefully things will turn around. Most of our home wiring is fixed, I am on my 3rd modem, and our dog can at least shuffle outside to do his business.
