NOTE: I believe ALL recruiting is now on hold. "Clan of Zork" is strong, happy and where we should be in the GUE. Regular incoming requests are still considered but recruiting messages are no longer neccessary. Thanks to all who have helped in strengthening what was already strong. If the situation changes we will once again call on your wonderful assistance. Cheers.
For anyone who wishes to recruit on behalf of The Clan of Zork, here are a few tips for the quickest and easiest mothod I have found:
1. Prepare a message (in notepad etc) and copy it.
2. Use the "Rankings" pages to select players by right clicking their names and opening in a new tab (firefox).
3. Open 10 tabs at a time (10 players)
4. Paste the message into the player's "invite" window and click "send invite". (check the player is not in a clan first unless you're stealing them).
5. When the "invite sent" message in a green box appears, close the tab/window and move on to the next.
Repeat for next 9 players and than start at step 2 again.
I usually have sessions of sending around 2-300 invites at a time which doesn't take too long when you get quick at it.
Here is one of the messages I have used if you wish to copy it for your own invites but feel free to compose your own:
"Hi", Clan of Zork is recruiting and we'd be honoured to have a fine adventurer like yourself aboard.
We have a well stocked armoury with free weapons and armour, the best message board around, loads of respect and even some cute little puppies too.
We also have a *new* clan forum offering help, information, chat and general "stuff" from the Great Underground Empire and the FREE COCONUT RAFFLE is in full swing.
Come and join us and let's adventure together "CoZ" you know it makes sense.
Clan of Zork, your home from home :-)
--------
I usually sort the rankings page to start with by either cards or XP. I think a lot of the REALLY low level and apparently new players may be static accounts from those who have not returned.
A player with say, 3-5 cards or players at page 15,000 of the XP rankings (7900xp+) are more likely to still be interested and being offered a place in a clan like ours may appeal at their stage in the game.
Good luck and don't get cramp!
Any more recruiting tips...please post them here.
