Here is a brief summary of how to calculate fame taken from the original LoZ forum thread: forums.joltonline.com/showthread.php?599788-Fame-FormulaThe formulas and example below are ONLY from your point of view and should only be applied when attacking, not for when someone attacks you. F= Opponent's Fame HP = Opponent's Hit Points/Life Points/Hearts OL = Opponent's Level YL = Your Level Fame gain from a win: (F divided by 100 plus HP) multiplied by 1 plus (OL minus YL divided by 10) Fame loss from a defeat: (F divided by 100 plus HP) multiplied by 1 minus (OL minus YL divided by 10) Note: You gain more fame from a win than you lose from a defeat :-) Example from a win: You: lvl 20, opponent lvl 24 with 12 HP and 5000 fame: 5000 divided by 100 = 50 plus 12 HP = 62 1 plus (opponent level minus your level divided by 10) = 1 plus 0.4 = 1.4 62 multiplied by 1.4 = 86 Fame won from a win (rounded down). Please see original thread link above for more info.

You are so smart.... I was never good at math, but thanks for the calculator... I think I will just keep whooping some butt in the arena and just let the Fame do its work... it can be like a suprise each time I pawn someone... maybe when I get sober oneday Ill try math again.. goodluck and happy venturing..

The formulas and example I gave above were from you/the player's point of view. I'm not too sure how things pan out from the defender's point of view....will post when I do.
If you were attacked and lost to someone who has a really high fame amount and is many levels below you, it's quite possible they will seriously damage your fame and maybe even swipe it all.
Get yourself that St Quakko's Protection sooner than later and if you're serious about arena fighting then don't be keen to level up too quick.

And on another note, I found out yet another lesson in fame the hard way. Sure, I don't mind being the guinea pig... So I see this guy in my Suggested Opponents list... I clear out everyone else first and then go to him.... he stood out cause he has about 39 million fame... yes million... he's in the mid 1,000s in AR and DR, and just to see how bad my probability would be in fighting him I attacked.... I didn't wager money because I knew I was gonna lose, just wanted to see how bad.... well it turns out even if you have that stupid amulet on you lose all your fame if YOU are the attacker and lose. So I went from 6,000 fame back to ZERO........ YET again... *sigh*

OOPS!
Yeah, the Aimfiz Amulet only protects you if you are fought and defeated in the arena.
Don't let this put you off fighting but if you bash the BGL every day, maybe I'll let you bash one of my characters after a quick disarm to retrieve your loss. What level is your character?
Good luck in there.

Ah, it's okay. I'm not really into the whole fame thing. At the moment my character is lvl 23 and I'm just grinding for zorkmids. Basically I spend some time in the Battle arena and battle through about the first 5-10 pages of the list. Picking and choosing who I fight but for the most part I only have to skip maybe 1 or 2 people per page. After a while 2300 zorkmids every battle adds up. I'm thinking though I may have to go on a low level gambit card hunt though.. I'd like to get my gambit up a little higher and push my DR above 1,000.

G-Rock, at least other CoZers may learn from this experience. Thanks for posting it.
(CoZies? CoZites? CoZins? Zonkies???)

I've been keeping my fame up fairly well, my battle ratio is pretty good, and I win lots more than I loose. I have noticed that we dropped from the top 5 clans... I lost 2k fame in one battle before I bought the charm, and thank you for telling me how to spend Zms on it instead of coconuts! I have discovered that if I battle just right, I can have at least 3 easter items (the weapons I haven't figured out if it's worth it for them, they're all two handers and I think I can get more AR out of regular Armory items) by the time I'm level 15. I'm feeling pretty good about myself. *pats own back*

So far as bunnyweapons go, only the top 2 levels are better than regular armory items in paired Primary/Secondary combos. The Exquisite weapons (580AR) are only topped by the level 50 quest reward item. The Masterworks (700AR) by the first 2 level 50 quest items which can no longer be acquired except maybe through Clan armory donations at level 50 or higher, and then only if an oldtimer was willing to part with theirs. If you are saving for Easter weapons in the plans of maxing out your AR, I would recommend holding off purchasing until you can get an Exquisite or Masterwork level, as that will hold you until at least level 50. To see some recommendations on non-bunny weapon combo maximizing, check out the Best Weapons By Level thread under the F.A.Q. section.

Hmm...I see they've bulked up their membership recently. The past week they've only had 3 members, one of whom being the level 1 leader.
